America Recycles Day is held on November 15 each year. It is a nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.
The challenge
Run an event or campaign that creates recycling awareness and celebrates America Recycles Day. Students, teachers, and administrators can pledge to recycle online.
Campaign ideas
- Give students and teachers an interactive way to learn what can and cannot be recycled at your school, such as a relay race game
- Host a school-wide "I Recycle!" pledge campaign for the rest of the school year
- Invite guest speakers for an Environmental Career Day: SWA, SCDES, Clemson Extension, 4H, Playcard Environmental Center, Waccamaw River Keeper
