Have you ever been to a landfill to see where your trash goes? The SWA offers free field trips to tour the landfill, the recycling facility, and the composting area where all HCS food waste goes.
At the landfill you will see what happens to your garbage, and what happens to the food waste composted with Horry County Schools. You will also tour the Materials Recycling Facility that processes and sorts recyclables from across the county. The experience lasts about two hours, it is completely free, and the SWA reimburses the school for bus mileage.
If you cannot come to us, we will come to you. The SWA offers free presentations on environmental topics such as pollution, to interact with your students at school.
