Does your school make efforts to recycle during special events? Do parents and other community members have the opportunity to recycle when they are in your school?
The challenge
Choose at least one event during the school year and plan to offer event recycling to everyone attending. You can borrow temporary event recycling containers from the SWA, or use the containers already on site. Make sure you have signs telling everyone what goes in them.
This is a great opportunity to introduce recycling and composting to parents and guardians. Students have likely told them about what is going on at school, and this is a chance for students to teach their family how to be good environmental stewards.
Container requests need three weeks' notice, and the SWA can lend up to 15. See the Forms page.
